START & FINISH LINE LOCATIONThe start line will be on CSU Channel Islands campus. All participants and spectators will park here. The finish line for all distances will be on PCH near Pt Mugu. Please note that there is absolutely NO parking or alternative access to the finish line – the only way to reach the finish line is via the Run Malibu shuttles.
-
COURSE TIME LIMITThe half marathon has a course time limit of 4 hours. Participants will need to maintain a pace of 20 minutes-per-mile to complete the race. Participants unable to maintain the required pace can continue to complete the race but will be asked to remain out of previously closed traffic lanes and adhere to regular traffic laws. Pacific Coast Highway will be reopened to vehicle traffic on a “rolling basis” determined by the 20 minutes-per-mile pace. Course support including aid stations, timing mats, and post-race refreshments will only be available to those that maintain the required pace to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and the success of the event. The Finish Line will remain open until 11:30am.
-
GEAR CHECKGear Check will be available for all half marathon participants. Gear check will be located in the Athlete’s Village adjacent to the startline at CSU Channel Islands. All checked bags will be transported to the finish line once the race begins and can be retrieved at the gear check tent there upon finishing. This event is committed to preserving the coastline’s natural environment and in order to comply with the recent single-use plastic ban, the race will not provide plastic bags for Gear check. Please plan to use the tote bag provided with your race packet or bring your own. Participants can detach the gear check tag from their race bib and attach it to their tote bag using the provided cable ties or use one of the provided tags and write their bib number before attaching to their gear check bag. Gear Check will open to drop off bags at 5:00am and must be picked up no later than 12:00pm. Please do not check valuables. Gear is checked at your own risk. The race is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged bags.

PARKING & SHUTTLESAll participant, spectator and volunteer parking on race day will be located at CSU Channel Islands. Half Marathon participants should arrive 2 hours before the start of their race to ensure they have enough time to park and walk to the start line. The Half Marathon will start from CSU Channel Islands but will finish on PCH. We will have shuttles running between CSU Channel Islands and the Finish Line Festival to bring participants back to their cars after the race. Please note that the Finish Line Festival is NOT accessible to any cars - including picking up or dropping off. If you have friends or family joining you on race day, they can take a Run Malibu shuttle from CSU Channel Islands to the Finish Line Festival between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM before we pause the shuttles to accommodate the half marathon. Shuttles will resume their route between CSU Channel Islands and the Finish Line Festival at 9:00 AM and will run continuously until the Finish Line Festival closes at 12:00 PM. After your race, please plan to stay a while. Our shuttles will pause for about 90 minutes while the half marathon passes through to ensure the safety of all participants. Shuttles will resume around 9:00 AM to bring 5k participants back to their cars at CSU Channel Islands.
-
AID STATIONSAid station locations will be approximately every 1 – 2 miles and will offer electrolytes at most stations, an energy gel, and restrooms at most stations. (Updated course map with aid stations will show what each will provide). Note: For safety reasons due to the nature of the PCH, all aid stations are located ocean-side. Outbound runners will have to cross inbound runners’ traffic to reach the aid station. Outbound runners are asked to yield to inbound runners when possible.
